WASCO ADULT ART CLASSES

FRAZIER MOUNTAIN FOCUS CENTRAL INC.
The Arts Council of Kern received an Artists in Schools Extension grant through the California Arts Council. “AIS Extension supports teaching artist residencies after school and during the summer months, on both school sites and in community settings.” (CAC website) The Arts Council of Kern will double the Frazier Mountain FOCUS Central Inc. after school and summer arts programming. FOCUS Central Inc. provides classes, productions, workshops, internship, and mentorships in the Fine, Performing & Vocational Arts with a demand for more. Two school districts, four charters in two counties are collaborating to match funds to meet the increase in programming demands of these culturally isolated mountain communities.
The Arts Council of Kern received a grant from Kaiser Permanente to help fund our Fostering Art program. This program is an art advocacy and education project for former foster youth ages 18-24 years old. This program will instill an appreciation for culture and the arts with a focus on each former foster youth creating a piece of art.
