Exciting news from The Arts Council of Kern! After a weekend of spirited voting between two captivating murals by Wendy Johnson, “Kern River Valley” has emerged as the clear favorite with a resounding majority of 59.3% of the total 123 responses. We’re thrilled to announce that this winning mural will grace the underpass of Highway 99 on California Avenue, adding a touch of beauty and inspiration to our community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to cast their votes and help us make this important decision. Your participation has played a pivotal role in shaping the artistic landscape of Kern County, and we’re incredibly grateful for your support. Let’s celebrate this exciting milestone together as we eagerly anticipate the transformation of the underpass with “Kern River Valley”!
