Community Grants for 2023!!

Press-Release

January 18, 2023 — Arts Council of Kern (ACK) Presents:

Community Grants Zoom Meeting on Jan. 25th, 2 pm, Bakersfield, CA – This week the Arts Council of Kern (ACK) announced that after the last couple of years’ limitations, Community Arts Grants are back for 2023.

Grants for $500-$2500 will be awarded and we are pleased to announce applications in both English and Spanish will be made available by next week.

In keeping with our mission to provide arts education, access, and advocacy to Kern County residents, on Wednesday, January 25th at 2 pm ACK will present a FREE Zoom workshop informing the community of who is eligible for these grants and how to apply. Please register at [email protected] to hold your spot and the Zoom information will be provided. All are welcome to attend.

If you’ve been keeping up with the Arts Council of Kern, you know there are many new and rejuvenated programs and events. We began putting things in place even before the ball dropped in Times Square by hiring our new Executive Director, Jeanette Richardson (Herring). If her name sounds familiar it’s because she was our ED between 2001-2011, and we’re so happy to have her back.

“Halfway into January 2023 is already shaping up to be a spectacular year for Kern County artists and the community,” says Ms. Richardson. “Along with our community grant information, we’re looking forward to introducing our outreach and support plans for artists in our outlying areas.”
*Members of our staff are English/Spanish bilingual and will return calls when these services are desired or required.
