Intertwined – Woven Words & Works
Exhibition Opening: November 7, 2025
Location: Arts Council of Kern – West and East Gallery
The Arts Council of Kern invites artists and poets to submit work for our upcoming exhibition, Intertwined – Woven Words & Works.
This show will highlight weaving in all its forms—fiber, natural materials, stories, and poetry—bringing together multiple cultures and generations.

This is a juried exhibit. All 3D woven works are submitted and selected works will be chosen by curatorial staff, led by Don Martin. All poetry works are submitted and selected works will be chosen by Em Radmacher and her committee. The selected pieces will be on display at the Arts Council of Kern gallery during the month of November 2025.
Entry requirements: Original work only. Created within the past 3 years. All artists must complete the entry form with all information requested. A non-refundable entry fee of $10 per entry is required. You may submit no more than 3 entries.
Delivery of work: All digital submissions are due between the dates of October 22nd – 26th, 2025. The deadline to submit all physical submissions is November 4th 2025. Physical submissions may be dropped off at our office at 1020 18th Street between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m, or they may be shipped to our location. All shipped artwork is a responsibility of the artist and must arrive prepaid. Return shipping and shipping insurance is the responsibility of the artist.
Preparation of work: All work must be labeled and ready for installation.
Liability: The Arts Council of Kern insurance covers art only while the work is in the gallery. The Arts Council of Kern is not responsible for loss or damage of work while in transit. Submission of entry form serves as an agreement to the conditions listed in this prospectus.
Submission Guidelines
Artists
Submit photos of 3 completed works that you would like to be considered for the exhibition.
Include an artist statement with your submission.
Works will be selected by our curatorial staff, led by Don Martin.
Poets
Submit up to 3 poems you would like considered, along with an artist statement.
Submissions will be reviewed by Em Radmacher and her committee for inclusion.

Intertwined – Woven Words & Works opens Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Arts Council of Kern’s West and East Gallery and will remain on display until our winter break.
This exhibition is an opportunity to showcase the interconnection of material, story, and culture—where threads and words come together as one fabric.
